Our Writers

We’re so lucky to have such a small but fantastically knowledgeable team of writers on our website.

All of our writers share one passion – the animals and pets with which we share such fantastic experiences. Here are the main writers on our site:

Barry Gray

Barry lives in Scotland, and he’s been working as a freelance writer for over a decade.

He has worked extensively in the educational space, writing thousands of articles, several ebooks, and even some educational courses.

Barry has owned a number of dogs, fish, rabbits and birds, and has a lifelong passion for learning and educating others about the wonders of the natural world.

Martin Williams

Martin is the founder of Mercury Pets.

He began his experience of pets when he won a goldfish at a school fair, by bouncing a ping-pong ball into a jar. That first pet ballooned into a score of others – dogs, rabbits, and reptiles among them.

Martin has written lots of the reptile content on the site, and edits every single article to appear on Mercury Pets.

Bridgitte Cave

Bridgitte is a freelance blogger and copywriter from South Africa.

She grew up on a farm, and eventually spent 5 years on Mahe Island in the Seychelles during her teen years. Her time living on a farm was spent mostly around animals including dogs, cats, cows, horses, and all sorts of fowl (chickens, ducks, and geese included).

Bridgitte is a keen horse rider, and has competed in many showjumping competitions.

She loves writing about pretty much all animals, and particularly dogs, cats, small mammals, horses and reptiles.

Amy Benenson

Amy Benenson is a graduate student in Rhode Island, USA.

She has been riding horses since the age of 10, and actively competing around the east coast of the US for the last 14 years. She had many experiences, including winning two national finals, training young horses, and working for a professional in charge of multiple top quality competitive horses.

Amy enjoys writing on rabbits, guinea pigs, and her beloved horses.
